Elgiganten saga comes to an end

I've had a few issues with my Panasonic TV, purchased from Swedish chain Elgiganten. Basically it's something called purple snake which pretty much spoils your viewing when watching some channels and some DVD's.

It's gone away twice to get fixed and Panasonic say there is nothing else they can do to fix it but the issue, which is better than it was in the beginning, is still showing.

But in about an hour the TV will be gone - Elgiganten, after much negotiation, have agreed to take it back - which is good but also bad.

It's good because it's what you'd expect as a consumer, if they cant fix the issue, but bad because the TV in question is silver and I cant find another silver one that offers the same specifications.

Now, I've got to go and replace my four speaker stands, four speakers, centre speaker and sub woofer if I am, as expected, going to have to get a black TV.

I've knocked Elgiganten in the past because service hasn't been that great. When I say service it could come down to communication, which it normally does in Sweden but once I started speaking to the store manager, options were offered and a solution has been found.

Now, all I've got to do is find a new TV and replace the other stuff but I will take my hat off and say well done to Elgiganten. Things are done differently here and in the UK this would have been sorted far quicker but, I've learnt that as long as you're persistent in Sweden and don't accept compromise or the first offer of return, then you'll end up happy in the end.
