Now using Bygdsiljum First and speed test looks good

At midnight our internet access provided by Alltele stopped working and about six minutes later the new service from Bygdsiljum First kicked in. It would have taken longer but I wanted to test the speed so I rebooted the router.

The service is also not getting delivered by Bygdsiljum First, but T3 (for data) and Skelleftea Kraft (for cable) - but I think you know what I mean. The service is called Bygdsiljum First powered by T3.

Another earthquake hits Northern Sweden

In 2008, we had an earthquake that measured 2.46 on the Richter magnitude scale and the one we just had, I'd say, was about the same.

I say 'just had', because it happened about 10 minutes ago. I couldn't post as I was watching the World Cup match between Brazil and North Korea and that was more interesting.

A month with the Google Nexus One in Sweden

I've had my Google phone for about a month now and when it arrived, like with all new things, you tend to play with it a lot and eventually it just fits into the place and reason why you bought it. Not the Nexus One - I'm still playing and it's getting a battering.

To say I'm pleased with the phone would be an understatement and I'm not sure why exactly. Is it because it is manufactured by HTC, or is it the super fast processor or is it Android 2.1 - the latest operating system from Google?

Google enter the phone market, just not yet in Sweden

I've come very close to getting myself an iPhone but I've never committed when it came to committing and I put that down to my relationship with Apple. You see, it costs a lot less to buy an Apple in England than it does in Sweden.

Google feeling lucky, counting down to New Years Eve

Just visited a Google employee blog and read in the comments that there was a countdown on the homepage, if you click on the I'm feeling Lucky tab without entering a search query. So I had to have a look but it doesn't work at Google Sweden only Google UK or from what I can see, English speaking Google sites.

WiFi headache solved: It is the device looking for the WiFi that causes the headaches

I don't know why I didn't think about this before, it's not as if I've only just walked into a WiFi world, it's been around for years, but I've just figured out why I get a headache and dizziness with WiFi.

It isn't the device transmitting the WiFi signal, it is the device picking up the WiFi signal. But, how have I figured it out? Well, I've just switched on a new device in the house that is looking for a signal from a hand controller that I've used for a couple of years with no issues and I get the headache and dizziness again. That and I've just figured out I forgot to turn the WiFi off after a party we had in June.

Testing the new 100Mbit internet connection and you just have to be happy

It isn't what they promise but with so many factors influencing exactly what you are going to get it is the reason why they don't guarantee it, but the results are very promising and also more than acceptable, in fact you could so far to say that they are pretty excellent.

Before I decided who to pick based on my questions last week I have to say that only four companies of the seven got back to me. They were Mobile City, Alltele, Brinet and T3. I got an email saying a ticket has been opened for me at Bredband2 but they never replied, Riksnet sent nothing and Bahnhof snet an acknowledgement of the email but again nothing.

Going Google Apps Premier Edition

I´m a big fan of Google, always have been and guess, if it keeps getting better always will, but there was one thing that bugged me about GMail; you could never send from your own domain without the users client showing it was coming from your GMail account.

That isn´t so bad, it´s only an email, but it was the one thing stopping me using GMail for all my email, instead I kept using Thunderbird and my very own email address. I used GMail rarely and only for non important stuff, but for work, I would still use my desktop, only because when I sent mail, it was sent from me and not from Google.
