Forum goes live at AVFC Blog

Because of demand we've launched a forum on the AVFC Blog and it's the first proper integration I've done using this component.

Basically the forum has become part of the site and uses the same database as well as having a few more unique tables. It still needs a little work but that will happen over time and hopefully from the community who make suggestions based on their experience of using forums.

AVFC Blog becomes most visited Aston Villa supporters site

In December last year the Aston Villa Blog became the AVFC Blog mainly because I wanted to move away from the .biz TLD I had to a .com.

At the the old site had an Alexa page rank of 71,961 which made it the most visited Aston Villa site and this week, under the new TLD we hit a page rank of 68,032.

Nothing on Google for St George

On July 4th, Google will have lots of images on the Google.com homepage. On March 17th they'll also have a little green man on the homepage to celebrate St Patrick's Day.

Today is St George's Day and Google have nothing. They don't have long to fix this but I fully expect them to; how much money do they generate from England?

All looks the same but we are on a new server

The House of Dugdale looks the same and if you've got an email account it should all work the same but we've actually moved servers and moved from Mambo to Joomla.

We're also not going to bring the database over from the old site to the new one so all the old content has gone and will not be coming back. The photo page is the only page we are going to keep but we're going to use a new application to display and manage these so we need a few days, or so, to get that right.
